Learn to carve a yellow lab’s portrait in a 5."5” (14cm) x 4 1/4” (11cm) basswood block

TOOLS:

If you do not have the same tools, remember you do not have to have the exact same sizes-- just within the same size range

• #4 - 1” (25mm) gouge

• #11 - 1/4” (6mm) gouge

• #10 - 9/16” (14mm) gouge

• #5 - 11/16 (17mm) gouge

• 30-60 degree -3/16” (3mm) V-tool and or larger V-tool (anything under 10mm is fine)

• 4- 1/4” (6mm) skew

• 1/8” (3mm) #10 or #11 veiner

• 220 grit sandpaper

• 1/4 Tapered riffler (optional)

• pencil

• ruler
